We Need A Bath…

Another beautiful day in Paradise!

Another cold night in the desert with some strong, icy winds which continued into morning, then awoke to some low temps that quickly warmed up with the rising of the Sun.  This is the first relatively warm day we’ve had since we arrived at Joshua Tree National Park.

Gotta Move

After a morning of working on the computer for the website, listening to my customary heavy metal for motivation, I decided to go hike the West End Loop trail, some 4.1 miles.  I was a little sore from yesterday having run and climbed two peaks in one day, and covering a lot of ground mile wise.  Oh the suffering!

The trail wound through the lower canyons going around all the large peaks, in a large loop.  I was instantly catapulted into a state of deep gratitude and awe at the ecstasy of the surrounding sights.  THIS is Living!  Views in every direction were to be had.

Water tank and lines

water tank and grey drainage showing cement

I needed to cement in the fitting for the water tank, as well as the grey water drain from the sink.  The previous cement didn’t hold, so we went with the industrial strength blue stuff.  Holds like a charm! After this cures, the final installation of the water tank will happen, then hook up all the lines, and we got water baby!

Our neighbors leave us in a slight state of jealousy, but that’s nothing that time and motivation won’t cure.  One can imagine living fulltime in a fully equipped palace on wheels in the middle of this desert paradise for an extended period of time, but at least we’re out here soaking it in with them, albeit dwarfed…

We Need A Bath…

Drove back to Desert Hot Springs Spa for a couple nights boondocking in the parking lot, as well as unlimited soaking and sauna.  Nice to be able to bathe as long as we want after being in the dry, waterless desert.  The weekend crowd is a little rowdy, many coming from all over to soak and drink, (not the water), but copious amounts of alcohol, and listen to classic rock.  A popular escape.

Still, the price can’t be beat, $7 per day; camping free!

And the view from the back window…nice!
