The Universal Desire For Human Longevity

“Grey are all the theories, but green is the tree of Life”, (Goethe).

Why Be Concerned With Human Longevity?

In the NuNativ view of human Life, there is no such thing as an afterlife.  The Life we have here, is so incomprehensibly beautiful, that we don’t want to waste a moment worrying about something that we cannot prove or solve.  This is both a depressing concept, and a highly motivating one.  On the one hand it is depressing, in that, we can instantly see that as a species, we are wasting a great deal of invaluable time, and ultimately precious Lifeforce on meaningless and often debilitating pursuits, like manufacturing Twinkies!  It is also highly motivating, in that, if this one Life is all we have, we had better get busy enjoying our precious moments.  I find it motivating as far as aspiring to refine our creations to those that enhance and deepen our appreciation of the human Life experience and especially the appreciation of Nature and the infinite surrounding universe.

Nobody knows about the reality of an afterlife.  Endless “theories” exist as to whether or not we continue on, but amounts to little more than speculation at the end of all the debating.  Since it cannot be proven as regarding an afterlife, let us instead focus on what we do know and can feel for certain, this dreamlike drop of time we pass through in this universe.

Consequently, prolonging our “stay” here becomes of primary importance.  We will go as far to say that, we are hardwired to Live as long as possible.  It is a self evident fact, that the human body can endure the most poisonous and debilitating circumstances, and yet by design, extract the maximum amount of Life possible despite the obstacles.  We are designed and built for longevity.  We define longevity as the ability as much as possible, to exist in a state of prolonged youth, pain free, and filled with feelings of bliss and appreciation for Life.  Long Life filled with suffering and pain is torture and not our focus.  Indeed, those who are suffering greatly usually want to die, and may take others with them, both directly, and inadvertently through their actions and creations.

Core Universal Desire To Stay Young

Almost all human activity can be condensed into one highly prized goal, the goal of eternal youth, and the desire to stay young.  We define staying young as existing in a perpetual state of around the age when the body and mind is fully formed, somewhere in the 30’s for most people.  Past this, when one begins to experience decay, is when the desire for youthfulness becomes greater, as one can see it slipping away.  The overriding impetus behind almost all decisions people make, is that the action one is taking, or the decision one is making, will bring them a longer and richer Life.

Many, especially men enter the so called “mid life crisis”, and attempt to do anything possible to regain their youth, by buying a sports car to bring about the “feeling” of being young, dyeing the hair to look younger, working out, taking a younger mate, which according to Chinese Taoism theory, actually can rejuvenate a person, by the absorption of the youthful essences of the younger mate.

On a person’s deathbed, all that most desire is another day of Life.  Unless crippling pain has been one’s constant daily experience, another day of Life, is the most sought after, yet ephemeral desire of all.  The sad truth, is that even with all the money in the world, the rich cannot even buy yet one more day when that time comes, though they would if it were possible; witness cryogenics, crypts and tombs, the great pyramids and other attempts to achieve this lofty goal.  Indeed, life is our most precious and valuable possession.

Clues From The Past Into The Present

A great many “legends” abound concerning our quest for longevity, including the fabled story of Adam and Eve.  The most highly developed system for the quest of longevity has been passed down from the great Chinese Taoists, which include a simple life close to nature and the natural forces, the moderation in one’s diet, the channeling of sexual forces towards their free circulation and concentration towards the rejuvenation of the body, and the prolonged, systematic ingestion of Adaptogens, the great Chinese Tonic Herbs.  Indeed, these factors in our experience are definitely part of the puzzle.

Reading accounts from white settlers of Native American tribes, illustrates the superior levels of health and longevity possible for humans just following more primitive lifestyles.  A lifestyle immersed in Nature should be the first goal of anyone’s longevity program.  Some accounts can seem like science fiction to the modern primitive, like these describing the longevity of various Indian tribes by settlers and explorers from the book Primitive Man:

“They live according to the dictates of Nature, and reach an age of one hundred and twenty five, and one hundred forty years.”

“…live to a great age, which is commonly seven score or eight score years”.

“are lively and nimble at a hundred years old”.

And accounts of great physicality:

“The agility of the women is so great that they can swim over great rivers, bearing their children in one of their arms.  They climb up, also, very nimbly upon the highest trees in the country”

“At running most Indians were equally adept, and it was said that the primitive warrior of the Great Plains would run a hundred miles in a single stretch without undue fatigue.”

“A tribesman would start chasing a deer in the morning and continue the race until sundown if necessary, until the animal was worn out and caught.”

This state of described health should be the baseline upon which we start.  Science will probably contribute other factors soon, like outlined by Aubrey Grey.  In the meantime, we advocate using what we know works from past knowledge, and staying on top of current research towards this end.  The greatest and most practically applicable synthesis of knowledge both from the past and the present we have come across is David Wolfe’s Longevity Now Program.  The Longevity Now Program outlines both the knowledge needed, as well as the practical how to steps to incorporate into your daily Life now.

Human Longevity Should Be Our Permanent Lifestyle

Longevity leaves clues, though the clues it leaves may not be readily apparent, as for most of us, our Lives are so fleeting.  If we slow down, perhaps we can begin to decipher them, and put together the conditions that will grant this greatest of all gifts and desires to ALL who are a/Live.  We believe with all sincerity, that we are on this planet for nothing more.  The ONLY goal we should all have, is how to be more a/Live, more youthful, and how we can Live longer.

We can begin by revering our elders for their continuous Life experience.  There is a divine presence being around a 1000+ year old tree, and the same would be true for a person!  Having a forward thinking longevity mindset, will involve planting semi-wild, ginseng roots that we will harvest in 50 years later, ho-shou-wu, (fo-ti) roots that we will harvest in 100, and other such “foods of the gods”, instead of carrots, potatoes and such.  At present, not many are focusing their efforts as such, because of short-sightedness, but perhaps soon.   It’s merely a case of, “you’ll see it, when you believe it, and then actually DO it”.

We should concentrate our days on constructing a planet that by virtue of design, enhances longevity for all.  We needn’t be concerned as to population figures, as there is an entire limitless universe all around us waiting for us to explore.  We now presently have the technology, the mass of people globally, and the resources to construct an Earthly Paradise for ourselves, 10 times over.  What we lack at present is a forward reaching longevity based mindset, the will to WANT to remain here, and savor the endlessly satisfying beauty that is living phenomenon.  What else on this Earth is worth pursuing?
